When I go to college I plan to study neuroscience and graphic design. I want to major in neurology and minor in graphic design. I have wanted to do both of these things since I was a kid and it still hasn't changed. Most people change their minds a couple times before they decide what they want to study, but I haven't changed mine so far. I want to study neuroscience because my grandma has Epilepsy which causes her to have seizures. When I was young I used to see her having seizures but I couldn't do anything to help her. I've gone to a couple of her appointments to see her neurologist and I became very interested an all of the things that neurologists do.
Graphic design has always been an interest of mine because I am an artist and I'm very good at graphic editing (especially on GIMP). I like making art using technology because I like to branch out and explore different kinds of art. I also like animation and interior design but if I had to choose, I would definitely go with graphic design.
The pre-collegiate program is helping me get exposure to the medical field. I really like the fact that we are taking courses like Human Anatomy , Health Disparities and Nursing because they are helpful in giving me a taste of what I'll be doing in college. I will be in school for a long time to pursue a career in neuroscience so this program is like an introduction to a chapter I will begin writing after I graduate from high school.
So that's a little about what I want to do after high school when I go into college. I'm not sure what college I want to go to but I'll be looking and touring colleges this year. (:
Neuroscience and graphic design are very different from each other, but I think they complement each other well too. And if you enjoy both of them that is great.
ReplyDeleteYou should check out the exhibit currently on display in the Gallery on the 3rd floor of the library. The current exhibit is "Art in Science | Science in Art". Many of the art pieces were created by researchers and scientists from the Univ of Colorado system.
Good luck!
